Excella Consulting Adds Second Certified Scrum Trainer To Agile Training Division

ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Excella Consulting, an Arlington-based technology consulting firm, announced today that Principal Consultant Fadi Stephan has received the Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) designation from the Scrum Alliance. Stephan, an internationally recognized Agile coach, is now one of approximately 170 trainers worldwide who are authorized to teach certified courses in Scrum. Stephan joins Richard Cheng as Excella's second CST and plans to expand the firm's Agile training capabilities in the DC area.

Fadi Stephan, Principal Consultant at DC's Excella Consulting, received the Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) designation from the Scrum Alliance.

"Fadi has years of experience helping corporations and government agencies adopt Agile," said Jeff Gallimore, founding partner at Excella. "Now he will bring this expertise to the classroom to teach people how they can use Agile and Scrum to have a greater impact."

The CST designation is among the highest professional designations available to Agile practitioners. The certification process requires candidates to submit a peer-reviewed application, curriculum materials, and endorsements from other certified trainers. Excella's clients and local IT practitioners interested in learning about and implementing Agile methodologies will benefit from courses led by Stephan including Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Certified Scrum Developer (CSD), and Agile Testing. Current course offerings are listed at www.excella.com/training.

Stephan has more than 15 years of professional experience as a ScrumMaster, product manager, and software developer at organizations ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies and federal agencies.  He currently leads Excella's Software Development practice where he helps organizations deliver value early and maximize ROI through the use of Agile methods. A graduate of The George Washington University, he leads several user groups in the Washington area including the DC Scrum Users Group. He is a regular speaker at Scrum Gatherings and Agile conferences and recently delivered a talk at the national Agile 2014 conference in Orlando.
